Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce proposes to the superstar in front of 170 million Grammy Award TV viewers

When Taylor Swift and her American football-player boyfriend, Travis Kelce, were spotted wearing matching tennis bracelets last week, it sent their fans into a frenzy.

But for some of her loyal followers, dubbed ‘Swifties’, it’s just not the right kind of diamond jewellery – and they are now begging Kelce to ‘put a ring on it’ at next weekend’s Super Bowl.

Some 170 million people watched the sporting event, held in Las Vegas, last year. Thanks to Swifties tuning in, it is expected to crush that figure next Sunday.

Her followers are hoping that Kelce, 34, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, will get down on one knee if his team is victorious against the San Francisco 49ers.

Social media has been flooded with fans hoping for a proposal. One wrote: ‘It would be a fairytale ending to a fairytale season if Travis wins the Super Bowl and then proposes to Taylor. Come on Travis – just do it!’

Another said: ‘Who else is tuning in for the post-game proposal?’

Swift, 34, is set to perform in Tokyo, Japan, on Saturday night but will board a private jet and use the 17-hour time difference to arrive in Las Vegas well before next Sunday’s 3pm kick-off.

The Embassy of Japan in the US even released a statement reassuring fans that the singer would be able to make the game in time.

Speculation over a proposal reached fever pitch last week after it was revealed Kelce commissioned the matching diamond-encrusted tennis bracelets with the initials TNT (for Taylor ‘n’ Travis).

Swift was photographed wearing hers as she embraced her boyfriend after his team secured its place in America’s biggest sporting final last Sunday.
