NFL fans were sent into a frenzy Thursday night after shocking rumors began spreading online claiming that Travis Kelce could be leaving the Kansas City Chiefs “tomorrow” following ongoing speculation about his future in the league.

The rumors exploded across social media after several sports commentators discussed the possibility of Kelce eventually retiring or testing free agency. However, there is currently no official confirmation that the superstar tight end is leaving Kansas City immediately. In fact, multiple recent reports indicate Kelce is expected to remain with the Chiefs for the 2026 NFL season.

Sources close to the organization revealed that Kelce informed team executives shortly after the 2025 season ended that he was “not going out like this” and wanted to continue playing. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach reportedly said the team already knew Kelce planned to return before free agency discussions even began.

The future Hall of Fame tight end has spent his entire NFL career in Kansas City and remains one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ favorite targets. Despite retirement rumors growing louder over the past two seasons, Kelce recently agreed to a new contract arrangement with the Chiefs and is still listed as an active member of the roster.

Fans have continued speculating because of Kelce’s age, his off-field business ventures, and his highly public relationship with Taylor Swift. Some online rumors even suggested he could leave football entirely after marrying Swift later this year, though none of those claims have been officially verified.

For now, the Chiefs organization has given no indication that Kelce is departing “tomorrow,” and most credible NFL insiders still expect him to suit up in Kansas City this coming season
