Chaos erupted on the set of The View this morning when longtime co-host Whoopi Goldberg dramatically collapsed onto the Hot Topics table in apparent protest of yet another celebrity gossip discussion—this time, about the rumored divorce of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
As co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin dissected the latest reports, Whoopi, visibly exasperated, rubbed her temples and sighed deeply. When Sara Haines turned to Whoopi for her take, the 68-year-old EGOT winner rolled her eyes before slumping forward, resting her head dramatically on the table.
“She’s down! She’s down!” Behar exclaimed as Goldberg groaned.
Sara Haines, clearly concerned, attempted to help Whoopi sit up, but the veteran actress waved her off.
“I can’t do this anymore,” Whoopi mumbled into the table. “I survived the Bush administration, I survived the Trump years, and now I have to sit here and talk about Bennifer for the tenth time? Somebody roll the credits. I’m out.”
Producers hastily cut to a commercial break as Haines fanned Whoopi with a cue card, and an intern appeared with a glass of water. When the show returned, Goldberg had resumed her seat, looking unimpressed as Behar quipped, “Well, that’s one way to avoid the conversation.”
