Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made his intention clear after announcing his return for the 2025 NFL season.

ESPN host Pat McAfee read a text he received from Kelce two weeks after the Chiefs’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX that read, “Gonna try to get into the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop.

“Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and with how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!”

The 35-year-old All-Pro finished the 2024 regular season with the fewest receiving yards (823), touchdowns (3) and yards per reception (8.5) of his career, excluding his rookie year, when he played in only one game.

While Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, continue keep a low profile this offseason, the Chiefs star also looks to be holding true to his word.

Kelce, who’s hunkered down at a mansion rental at the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club in Boca Raton, is training with Tony Villani of XPE Sport and Andrew Spruill from Johnny O’s gymnasium, according to Chamblee High School quarterback Brayden Doss and wide receiver Jazz Lewis.

After Lewis and Doss posted photos and videos of their workouts with Kelce last month, new pictures of the 10-time Pro Bowler changing after a workout in Miami emerged on May 20.

While fans agreed that Kelce appeared in be in great shape, others criticized his body hair. One fan couldn’t believe the reaction and commented on Instagram, “He literally calls himself The Big Yeti.”

One person wrote, “Hi, so, women talking [expletive] about men’s looks doesn’t help us females out any. 🤷🏼‍♀️.”

One man wrote, “The amount of women talking trash about his body hair is baffling. Yes, WOMEN. His body, his choice, isn’t it? I’m sorry to be this vile, but if men were talking [expletive] about a woman’s body, y’all be fuming. Keep it real. That’s what a real body looks like, like it or not.”
