Tracis Kelce is putting his foot down when it comes to his girlfriend. Sources close to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end say he’s pretty mad that the President talked down on Taylor Swift.

On May 16, President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social, he asked his followers, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump previously expressed his disdain towards the “Lover” singer when he posted “I hate Taylor Swift,” days after she endorsed Kamala Harris for President in October 2024.

A source told the Daily Mail that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is “seething” after seeing the President’s social media post. “Travis is livid that the President of the United States is talking negatively about Taylor,” they said. “He is so mad that he is going to use it as motivation during training for the season ahead, especially if Trump continues talking.”

They continued, “Since Travis can’t say anything publicly because that would just open another can of worms, he has to figure out ways to get it out of his system because he would love to protect Taylor and stick up for her. But keeping quiet is the move he has to do right now.”

When Donald Trump attended the Super Bowl, Kelce and his teammate Patrick Mahomes took to react. Travis Kelce said playing in front of the president is “a great honor.”

“I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool,” Kelce said during a press conference.

“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Mahomes told reporters. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.” Trump previously called Mahomes a great football player. “It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” Mahomes said. Patrick Mahomes’ family is rumored to be Trump supporters. However, the quarterback did not endorse him as a candidate after the President praised his wife, Brittany.

In October 2024, Trump posted an AI-generated photo of Taylor Swift endorsing him. Taylor Swift took to social media to clear up her stance. “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” she wrote on Instagram. “It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” she continued. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Travis’s support for his girlfriend also comes after the two took a long “break” from the public eye to focus on their relationship. One source told to Us Weekly they “needed time for themselves,” adding, “Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love.”

A lot of their time is spent at home just relaxing. Despite their fame, they’re really just like any other couple,” an insider told Page Six. “They like to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, play board games, spend time with family, cook dinner together, and just hang out,” the source added.
